it just happen that throughout brief time in the IT-Sec world, certain people are just unwillingly to succumb to the fact that they’re plain dumb instead of just acting dumb and admitting it. This do happen alot, but THIS do not! but rest assure that they wont stop coming since IT-sec is the “thing” now, everybody seems to have their own perspective towards the topic. Even makcik nasi lemak know that,

in response of my late post and review about stealth rootkit using virtual machine technology, some good guys (or offensive) from Offensivecomputing.net have written a good paper on detecting a presence of virtual machine.

Virtual rootkit create stealth risk

VM Rootkits: The Next Big Threat?

is it that of a huge threat? yes,it does prevent detection of some sort of malware but does the behavorial and signatures of a virtual machine running on a system can be under the radar as well? surely it would be easy to detect the existance of a virtual machine rather than a rootkit.

Well, the article is still new but if the VM Rootkit is able to hide itself and evade detection of running and the installation a virtual machine on a system, that’ll be great.
